That why I am pleased share some of my favorite tools with you. These make my life easier in the kitchen and allow me to bless my family and others with healthy food. And now I am offering them to you!

Bosch Mixers

Why I love my Bosch Universal...

I have had experience with a few mixers in my life. I returned my Kitchenaid 3 times in a 2 1/2 year period. Loved it because my Grandma had one and had one at home for a while. I made it work. I made it work hard. I had to work hard to made it work hard and the motor kept giving up on me.

After the fire in 2006, a friend invited me over, showed me how to use her Bosch Universal and Ktec grain mill. We made 5 loaves of bread and a pan of rolls in about an hr. She then surprised me by giving me her mixer and mill and a bag of wheat to get me started. It was a huge blessing. I still have that mixer. It was over 10 years old when she gave it to me and I have had it almost 9 years. It is still going strong. I have replaced the bowl once and bought new wire whips. I have had zero problems with the motor. I make bread in bulk. I get 5-6 loaves at a time out of my mixer, depending on the recipe I use and the pans I put the dough in. I confess to being the master at overstuffing my bowl and making it work. No, I won't show you how I do it right now. Maybe later. :) I quadrupled my favorite 2 lb loaf recipe and with my loaf pans it comes out to be 6 1 lb loaves.

Some of my top reasons I love my Bosch include,
  • Nearly no mess mixing, thanks to the totally covered mixing bowl. I can make almost anything make a mess is why I say nearly. =) Every mixer makes a mess mixing, but the lid and ring assembly really do greatly reduce the mess produced.
  • Versatile power source- the Bosch can power many accessories, including a powerful 6-cup blender, slicer/shredder, citrus juicer, food processor, grain mill, oat roller, flour sifter, etc, eliminating the need for numerous appliances.
  • High wattage motor- I have never felt the motor was getting too hot, even after mixing heavy dough for extended period of time, thanks to the high wattage motor. The new Universal Plus has an 800 watt motor.
  • Taking the bowl on and off the stand is very simple, no mixer head in the way, no locking bowl to pry free.
  • The huge bowl makes big batches of anything a cinch to whip up, no more making multiple batches to get a large qty of baking done
  • Easy cleanup.
  • Powerful kneading action creates superior bread texture in less time
  • Indispensable pulse feature- I use the pulse all. the. time. I love the total control I have over anything I am mixing.
  • Easy operation- I don't feel like I have to babysit and prod this mixer along. It really is an asset on my counter that assists and sets me free in creating food for my family.
  • Kid-friendly operation- children should always be supervised and trained in using appliances and the Bosch is no different. I do feel it is one of the most kid friendly mixers to operate by children and around children. It is easy to see in the clear lid while the ingredients are being mixed and the lid protects little ones during operation. Controls placed on the front of the mixer, lower than the mixing happening in the bowl, helps keep hands in a safe place during the operation of the mixer, unlike mixers with an overhead control switch next to a whirling beater.
  • Versatile workhorse mixer that can handle mounds of dough, cakes, cookies, etc, and whip one egg white into mounds of meringue.

The New Bosch Styline

I have not yet personally used the Bosch Styline. But this sleek little machine looks pretty nifty and performs the duties of a stand mixer, blender, and food processor all in one and in high style. If I needed a smaller mixer, this would definitely be on my list! (blender available separately)

The motor is smaller than the Universal Plus' 800 watt motor, but with 450 watts and 4 speeds, the Styline mixer still has what it takes to knead bread, whip cakes, make cookies, whipped cream, mashed potatoes, etc.
The Styline also brings the power of a food slicer/shredder to your counter with the included 3 slicing, shredding and julienne disks. An additional attachment that includes a chopping knife is also available.

Compact and portable, this efficient machine is great for RV travel or small kitchens, and those who don't need the full power of the Bosch Universal Plus but want most of the features.

Here are some specs on the Styline:
  • 450 watt motor
  • MultiMotion orbital action. Whip drive spins and rotates in the bowl, providing a thorough mixing action
  • Four speeds plus momentary
  • Microprocessor speed control
  • Easy cleaning
  • Rubber suction cup feet
  • 4 qt. bowl with 6 lb. dough capacity
  • Includes stainless bowl, stainless dough hook, stirring whisk & beating whisk, bowl cover and accessories bag for travel and storage
